TENNIS COURTThe following are pictures of a tennis court, which was poured in the rain. The thickness if about 10-12 cm (4 to 4 ¾ ") over an area
of 800 square meters (8,600 sq. in.). There are only two
contraction joints, which means that 40m (133 ft.), instead of 6m
(18ft) is between contraction joints. There are no
membranes. As you can see, the curing is excellent...there is no shrinkage, and thus no shrinkage cracks. The delivery time from the concrete plant to the job site was approximately 1 hour. Temperature were freezing, and winds were present. Even under these extreme conditions, there was no problem with trowelling or finishing.
The cement content is 280kg per m3 (472 lb/cy). Compression tests after 7 days show 25MPa (3550psi). |
